Regency Hospitality

The Hospitality Program at TAFE SA helps students gain the necessary skills and knowledge required to perform a diverse range of roles within the hospitality industry.  The Program provides students with the very best in theoretical knowledge from experienced educators and sound practical experience in facilities that reflect current industry standards.

Certificate courses enable students to learn the operational skills of the hospitality industry, such as food and beverage service, cocktail making, hygiene procedures, cuisine and wine knowledge.  Students acquire skills required to be a team leader or supervisor in the industry. These skills include leading and managing people, stock ordering and finance, dealing with conflict and developing the business.

In higher level courses, students gain skills and knowledge in areas such as implementing a business plan, developing marketing strategies and recruiting, selecting and inducting staff and monitoring their performance.

The Hospitality Program’s commitment to excellence ensures that students gain transferable knowledge and operational skills for work in restaurants, cafes, bars and hotel management anywhere in the world.

Facilities

The hospitality facilities at Regency International Centre for Hospitality, Tourism and Food Studies are state of the art and mirror industry technologies.

Students spend the first six months of their program training in these world class facilities. Students develop their hospitality operational skills in simulated facilities, before working in the restaurant and function areas where they spend up to six weeks putting their skills into practice in a real hospitality environment.

The world class hospitality facilities at TAFE SA Regency International Centre include:

Hospitality graduates can access a diverse range of employment opportunities upon completing their qualification. Employment can be gained in a vast array of quality restaurants, hotels and international hotels located across Australia. Employment opportunities exist in all major capital cities and tourist destinations both in Australia and internationally. Students benefit from having a  passion to succeed in a vibrant industry requiring people who are team oriented, focussed, dependable, responsible, flexible and well groomed.

Graduates from the Certificate III in Hospitality (Operations) can secure employment in restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs, and function businesses. Graduating with a Certificate IV in Hospitality (Supervision) may enable students to gain challenging and meaningful employment as team leaders or supervisors in most hospitality settings.

On completion of the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality, students gaine necessary skills and knowledge to become a restaurant/ bar/ functions manager. Completion of the Bachelor of Business (Hospitality) provides students with the skills and knowledge required to manage a department in an international hotel, either in Australia or overseas.
