Scholarships and grants

A range of scholarships and grants are available to eligible students to assist with the costs of study.

ASPIRE Foundation

(Port Adelaide, ElizabethTea Tree Gully campuses only)

Scholarships are available for financially disadvantaged students studying the Certificate III in Business Administration full time on campus. Applications are available from Student Services at the above campuses.

City of West Torrens Careers in Local Government Scholarship

Scholarships are offered to residents of the West Torrens Council area in courses such as community services. For further information, contact the council on (08) 8416 6333 or Student Services at your campus.

EW Stevens Trust Scholarship

Applicants must live in isolated farming or grazing areas and be in financial hardship. For further information, contact the SA Farmers Federation on (08) 8410 7233.

Jack Seekamp Award

(Murray Darling Basin region only)

Scholarships are offered to full-time Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Degree students at TAFE from SA Murray Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board region. 

Job Network Members

(eg. Maxima, ARA, Bakas, Complete Personnel, Jobs Statewide or CRS Australia)

Special employment support services may also provide financial assistance to clients on a case-by-case basis. If you are receiving intensive support or being case managed by any employment/disability rehabilitation service provider and considering an educational pathway, ask to discuss the funding arrangements.

Mick Young Scholarship Trust

(Port Adelaide Campus only)

This is available to financially disadvantaged students studying at the Port Adelaide Campus. Applications are available from Student Services at Port Adelaide Campus.

Minerals Council Scholarship Program

These scholarships are for students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent and may help to fund tertiary expenses, including fees. They offer up to $5000 per successful applicant. For further information, check out the website.

Refugee scholarships

These scholarships are available to refugees who have arrived in Australia within the last five years and have proof of acceptance into a TAFE SA course. Further information and application forms are available from the Australian Refugee Association. Contact Shamira on (08) 8354 2951. 

Royal Society for the Blind – Cowan Trust Scheme

This fund assists in providing necessary adaptive equipment and software to vision impaired students who would otherwise be financially restricted in undertaking their studies. Applications usually close in mid-January each year. For further information, contact Carolyn Phillips on (08) 8232 4777.

Scholarships for deaf and hearing-impaired students

These scholarships are provided to deaf and hearing-impaired people to assist with their participation in post-secondary education. For further information, phone (02) 6262 7808 or TTY (02) 6262 7809, or email info@deafnessforum.org.au


SA Water Scholarship for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students

These scholarships are offered to TAFE SA students who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and are enrolled into a eligible course at TAFE SA. Please download the Scholarship Brochure or Application Form below for eligible courses. Applications close on the 23rd March 2012.

SA Water Scholarship for Prevocational Students

These scholarships are offered to TAFE SA students who are enrolled in the Certificate I in Engineering (Specialising in Fabrication), Certificate II Program in Electrotechnology Career Start (Specialising in Electrical), or Dual Certificate I Program in Automotive and Engineering. Only Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents are eligible to apply. Applications close on the 16th March 2012.

Scholarships for war veterans and their children

Scholarships are offered for war veterans and their children through Veterans Affairs. For further information, call 1800 620 361 or the Veterans Affairs inquiry line on 133 254.

Sir Charles Bright Scholarship Trust

These scholarships are awarded to South Australians with a disability who are undertaking post-secondary education. Phone +61 8 8261 6171 or email admin@rphadelaide.org.au to obtain an application form. Closing date is 24 December each year. 

Spotless Academic Scholarship

(Regency Campus students only)

There are two scholarships available to full-time students to a maximum value of $1250 per scholarship. Consideration is based on academic merit. Please contact Student Services at Regency Campus for application forms and further details.

The Trevor Prescott Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be South Australian or Northern Territory residents, 20-30 years old and in need of financial assistance to help them undertake further studies or research. For further information, contact the Masonic Foundation on (08) 8443 9909 or see the Masonic Foundation website.

Transition to Work Program

People who have been in a caring or parenting role and need training in order to return to work may be eligible for assistance. Please contact Employment Plus in the telephone book for further information.

Westwood Continuing Education Scholarships

Scholarships of up to $1500 are available to residents of Ferryden Park, Mansfield Park, Angle Park and Woodville Gardens. Applications are available from Student Services at Croydon and Regency campuses. For further information, contact (08) 8243 6460.

Wyatt Further Education Awards

These awards are provided to full-time, on-campus students in financial hardship who have lived in South Australia for at least five years, to assist with the cost for entry-level courses. Applications are available from student services at your campus or on the Wyatt website.

Wyndham Richardson Scholarship 

This scholarship is offered to current full-time students who are enrolled in a Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree or Vocational Graduate Certificate, are in financial hardship, and an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Applications close on 2 March, 2012.
