Campus-initiated refunds

Where a refund results from a circumstance caused by the campus, such as a cancelled class, you will receive a full refund of the fees. No administration fee will apply.

Acceptance of place in a higher preference course offered through SATAC

If you provide a copy of your letter of offer, a full refund will be given. No administration fee will apply.

Student-initiated refunds

Refunds will not be granted automatically. You are expected to be aware of your work and personal commitments before you enrol, and you will need to establish that the cause of withdrawal could not be reasonably anticipated before enrolment.

A full refund (less administrative fee) will apply if you withdraw before the course commences, or if you produce documentary evidence that supports a successful application for status in elements of a course, where full fees have been paid. This will only apply within three weeks of the course commencing.

A 50% refund (less administrative fee) will apply if you withdraw for personal reasons beyond your control, after the course has commenced, but within three weeks of commencement. Acceptable reasons may include:

• sickness (verified by a medical certificate)
• change of employment hours or location (verified by employer)
• other reasons deemed valid at the discretion of the campus.

This section also applies to User Choice students on the basis that if training has not been provided, TAFE SA is not entitled to charge a fee for that portion of training.

Important points

• No refund will be granted after three weeks of the course commencing.
• The date of withdrawal shall be the date that TAFE SA receives the refund application accompanied by the relevant supporting documentation.
• If any period of three weeks represents more than 50% of completion of the modules/competencies you are withdrawing from, no refund will be granted.
• There is no entitlement to refund for Fee for Service courses except at the discretion of the director.
