Selection Guide 2008

Photo of North Terrace, Adelaide

The TAFE SA Student Selection Guide provides a summary of the entry requirements and selection processes for TAFE SA courses and is designed to help you select your career path.

In order to be eligible to be considered for a place in your chosen course, you will need to meet the minimum entry requirements (MER). If there are more eligible applicants than available places in the course, the applicants will be ranked according to the specific selection criteria developed for each TAFE SA course. You will be ranked in order of merit according to the selection criteria on the course grid.

For example, if your chosen course has SACE completion listed as one of its MER, then your successful SACE completion will make you eligible for the course, and your results will help determine how competitive you are against the other applicants.

While you generally only need to meet one of the MER in order to be eligible for a course, you can gain points against any of the selection criteria. The more closely your qualifications and experience relate to the criteria, the more points you will gain.

For further information on the selection criteria for each TAFE SA course and how to use it, browse the links to the right or contact TAFE SA Information.
