English as a Second Language

If you are from a non-English speaking background, studying a TAFE SA English proficiency course will help you to improve your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. During your study you will also learn more about Australian culture, society and values to help you make a smooth transition to living in Australia.

The Certificate level courses may include preparation for further study or employment by providing supported work placements and elective subjects which give you the option to experience parts of other TAFE SA courses such as child care, aged care, food processing or hospitality.

The Diploma of English Proficiency helps overseas born professionals to improve their academic English skills to transition to further tertiary studies or to practise in their chosen profession in Australia.
