Studying a TAFE SA fitness course will prepare you for a career in the fitness industry, including as a:
gym instructor
- group exercise instructor

During your study you will learn a variety of practical and theoretical skills, including:
- the basic skills of exercise science
- developing and conducting fitness programs for groups and individuals
- learning how to conduct exercise in water classes
- designing basic gym programs
- learning how to conduct effective pre-exercise screening and assessment interviews
- anatomy and exercise physiology
- analysing dietary requirements
- learning how to motivate clients using principles of psychology.
Successful completion of a fitness course may give you the chance for bonus accreditation, such as national registration as a fitness professional with Fitness Australia and Kinect Australia, or WorkCover accreditation.
The Certificate III in Fitness is offered at the Mount Gambier and Port Lincoln campuses, and the Diploma of Fitness (incorporating the Certificates III and IV in Fitness) is offered at Regency Campus.
