Animal Care

Studying a TAFE SA animal care course will prepare you for a career in a veterinary practice, pet shop, animal welfare and much more.

Depending on the course you choose, you will learn a variety of skills during your study, which may include:

  • general animal care
  • working in the animal care industry
  • animal first aid
  • animal handling
  • assisting with surgery
  • performing biological laboratory procedures
  • providing advice regarding companion, production and aquatic animals
  • veterinary reception
  • clinical pathology techniques
  • coordinating theatre routines
  • capturing and restraining animals.
