Fabrication and Welding

Studying a TAFE SA fabrication and welding course will prepare you for employment as an apprentice in the engineering trade.

Depending on the course you study, you will learn a variety of skills, which may include:

  • basic computations
  • hand and power tools
  • manual handling
  • mechanical cutting
  • MMA and GMA welding
  • oxy welding
  • sheet and plate assembly
  • technical drawing
  • automotive mechanical and electrical
  • autobody painting and panel beating
  • trade area practice and theory
  • computer aided design
  • manufacturing management
  • mechanical design.
