Youth Work

Studying a TAFE SA youth work course will give you the opportunity to have an impact on the lives of young people in the community. As a youth worker, you will work with young people in a multitude of situations, supporting them through their issues and advocating on their behalf so they can improve their lives and reach their potential.

Youth work helps to address social, behavioural, health, welfare, developmental and protection needs of young people. This means that, with a youth work qualification, you have the chance to pursue work in a diverse range of roles, including:

  • outreach work on city streets
  • running community education and recreation programs for local governments
  • providing a voice for young people on a range of issues, such as health services or employment
  • community development
  • working in community legal centres or residential youth care facilities.

Youth work courses are offered at the following campuses:

Berri
Gawler
Gilles Plains
Murray Bridge
Noarlunga
Port Pirie
Regency
Salisbury
Victor Harbor

Does this sound like the pathway for you?
