Library and Information Services

Studying the Diploma of Library/Information Services will prepare you for a career as a library assistant or technician.

Library assistants issue, receive and shelve library items such as books, tapes and films and maintain associated records, while library technicians are skilled library workers, working at a paraprofessional level.

This course incorporates the Certificates III and IV and the Diploma of Library/Information Services and will cover various skills, including:

  • acquiring and processing resources
  • analysing and organising information
  • communicating ideas and information
  • processing orders
  • mathematical ideas
  • using technology.
