Dental

Studying a TAFE SA dental course will offer you the opportunity to pursue a career as a dental assistant, hygienist or technician. The type of work you can move into is diverse and may include:

  • Dental studenteducating people about oral care
  • providing dental treatment, such as polishing and cleaning teeth
  • taking x-rays and impressions of teeth
  • greeting and preparing clients for examinations
  • preparing and sterilising dental equipment
  • assisting dentists, therapists or hygienists and technicians in dental work
  • providing clerical assistance
  • making bridges, crowns and dentures
  • educating school children through community education programs.

This is a growing area, which means that your prospects of employment once you have graduated are strong.

Dental courses are offered at the Gilles Plains Campus.
