TAFE SA's Workforce Development Program is a response to the Australian Blueprint for Career Development (ABCD), which recognises that a rapidly changing and complex labour market requires a radically new approach to careers.

The old match-and-fit approach to job placement was based on an employer's market, where citizens felt lucky to have jobs. With today's growing economy, it is predicted that somewhere between 2010 and 2018 there will be more jobs available in Australia than people to fill them, transforming the workforce into an employee's market.

Our work began in Career Development, introducing the implications of the new world of work to more than 1,000 people across Australia.

It soon became clear that businesses were looking for answers to the question of how to attract and retain talented workers - those with the creativity, innovation and energy to drive success in a very volatile marketplace. After researching leading-edge methodologies in Australia and internationally, our team began its new work in Organisational Renewal.

This led to the recognition that organisational shifts can only be created and sustained with strong leadership, and we began our most recent program, Leadership.
