Professional Writing

Do you have a flair for expressing yourself in words, or would you like to improve your writing skills in a professional context? The Advanced Diploma of Arts (Professional Writing) will arm you with the skills to write:

  • Manuscriptsnovels
  • TV and film scripts
  • children's books
  • poetry
  • short stories
  • articles
  • advertising copy

The course will provide you with training in the styles, techniques and conventions appropriate to different writing types and will help you to develop knowledge of the markets relevant to particular types of writing.

You will learn about preparing and submitting manuscripts for publication and how to manage your own small business. The emphasis of the course is on producing original works rather than on your ability to discuss particular aspects of writing, style or technique. Elective studies are built into the course structure, and a range of short courses are available, allowing you to customise your studies to your writing aspirations.

The course is offered at Adelaide Centre for the ARTS and has resulted in many graduates who are now successful writers.

A range of short courses in creative writing and professional writing are also offered if you would like to develop a specific skill.

For further information, see the course information or contact Adelaide Centre for the ARTS on +61 8 8463 5004 or mailto:arts.adl@tafesa.edu.au.
