Stylist

Being a stylist is an exciting and diverse career that can lead to many areas of employment within the fashion industry, such as working as an image consultant for private clients or creating looks for fashion magazine spreads, photo shoots and the media.

Throughout the course you will learn about the different markets within the fashion industry, what influences and inspires these markets, job opportunities and the relationship between stylists, customers and clients.

During your study you will learn about:

  • Stylist studentscreating a proforma kit for clients
  • individual customer styling and image consultancy
  • figure analysis, colour consultancy, wardrobe planning and style analysis
  • fashion shoot layouts and the process of obtaining garments and accessories for photo shoots
  • fashion designers, labels and brands
  • design principles in relation to a stylist’s requirements.
